We relied on a jumbled mess of sticky notes on the fridge, disjointed mobile notes apps, and scattered whiteboards. We tried to track everything: his symptoms, his daily meals, his reactions to certain medications, and his mood shifts.
When Bailey had a bad day, we scrambled through pages of notes to figure out what had changed. Was it a new treat? The change in the weather? A delayed dose of medicine? The tools we had were either overly complicated vet software or too simple for everyday pet parents who needed a holistic view of their dog's well-being.
Desperation sparks innovation
In our lowest moments, we decided there had to be a better way. The idea for DogOmnia wasn't born in a corporate boardroom—it was sketched out on our kitchen table. We wanted an application that could give us, and eventually pet parents everywhere, the peace of mind knowing we could track, manage, and optimize our dog's health seamlessly.
From a foundational need to care for our own best friend, we started coding and designing. We developed intuitive features for activity tracking to make sure dogs like Bailey were getting the right kind of physical movement.
